Condolences
Candace, Derek and Heather, my sympathy to all of you. I remember one summer, my mother (Lil ) asked him to come to the Lakenheath Hall and show her women's group (The Lakenheath Stonehenge Women's Guild) his slides from some of the places he had worked and lived in. Everyone from the community came as well and were most impressed by his life in Inuvik. We would talk on the phone once or twice a year and he was always very interesting to talk to and always interested in what we farmers in Saskatchewan were doing. I think in every conversation we had he always said how much he missed Aunt Betty. So they are together now and he won't be lonesome anymore. It was through your efforts that he was able to be in his own home as long as he was.

So sorry for the loss of your dad. I still remember the time that we went to Vancouver for Expo and the kick he got out of us killing slugs on the driveway of their North Van home. I think it was the first time I ever saw a slug! LOL
He was a loving, generous man and he touched everyone he encountered in some positive way.
Both Greg's and my thoughts are with you all.

Condolences to the Oancia Family
Your Dad and Mom were great neighbors to my parents in Valley Ridge. I enjoyed having conversations with your Dad about golf when I was in town visiting my folks. Thoughts are with you during this difficult time.
Thank you for sharing this.
I am Dorothy Boghean's (Oancia) son, Barry John Boghean. I was born in 1951 in Timmins, ON but have lived in Windsor, ON since 1966.
Our mother, Dorothy Boghan (Oancia) passed away in 2018. I recall her speaking of her 'kid brother' Ray.
I am sorry to have not met Ray (if I did, I was likely too young to remember). If Ray was like other members of the Oancia family, I'm sure I would have enjoyed his company.
May God bless your entire family richly.
Barry & Barbara Boghean
Dear Candance, Heather and Derek,
Ray and Betty were our wonderful neighbors for 6 years and the friendship continued until Betty's passing.
We enjoyed many dinner and card-playing evenings with them over 20 yrs - great cooks and full of fun. We miss them. Our condolences on your loss.

I was fortunate to spend several times with Ray, one being his 80th birthday filled with fun laughter and fireworks. He was an interesting man to talk with and it was easy to see and feel the deep love and dedication he felt for his wife and his three children. He was a kind man and feel honored and privileged to of had the opportunity to meet him.
