Obituary of Eunice Shek Fong Mah

March 18, 1936 - Taishan, China

November 14, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Eunice Mah, beloved wife of Jerry C. Mah, of Calgary, AB, went to be with her Saviour and Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022, at the age of 86 years.

Eunice was born in Taishan, Kwongtong, China on March 18, 1936.

She immigrated to Calgary, AB, Canada on July 21, 1960. Eunice married Jerry on July 30, 1960.

She dedicated her life to raising her four children and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of the Calgary Chinese Alliance Church, serving many students, couples and families through her cooking, wise counsel, loving, caring and generous spirit.

Eunice enjoyed family life and took much joy in her children and grandchildren. One particularly memorable family celebration was

when she celebrated her 80th birthday with the entire family on a Western Caribbean Cruise.

Eunice’s favourite Bible verses are:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths. Prov. 3:5-6

All things work together for good to those who love God...according to His purpose. Rom. 8:28

She will be most remembered for her love for her husband and the family, and her gentle and generous unselfish spirit.

Besides her loving husband, Eunice is survived by her four children, Ruth (Hans) Fung of Almaty, Kazakhstan, Tim (Peggy) Mah of Calgary, AB, Sharon (Freeman) Wong of Edmonton, AB and Andy (Robyn) Mah of Piscataway, NJ; her eight cherished grandchildren, Ben (Marissa) Fung of Bridgewater, VA, Evan Fung of Calgary, AB, Matthew Fung of Hong Kong, Nicolle, Tyler and Dylan Mah of Calgary, AB and Joshua and Jadyn Mah of Piscataway, NJ. Eunice is also survived by her brother, Wing (Gwen) Choi of Calgary, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Eunice was predeceased by her parents, brothers, and sisters.

Funeral Services will be held at Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB.)  on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells). Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
