Obituary of Michael Robert Cummins Coulson

Michael, the much-loved husband of Marie, and only child of Anne and Bob Coulson, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the age of 87 years.

Mike was father to Rosilyn (Dennis) Teng, Kate (Urs) Daellenbach, Jennifer (Carlos) Acevedo, and Julia (Michael) Jordison; and grandfather to Samuel, Cristina, Isabel, Lucia, Sebastian, Joshua, Sophia, and Elyse. He was blessed with a large circle of colleagues, extended family, friends, and neighbours, whom he held dear.

Mike was a busy guy and made a difference to so many, as a Professor at the University of Calgary, Director at Foothills Creative Beginnings, a Volunteer and Camp Director at Camp Quality, a stalwart part of the Calgary Renaissance Singers, and an Elder in the Community of Christ church.

He touched us with his kindness, intellect, honesty, integrity, and humour. Join us to celebrate Michael’s life at McInnis and Holloway (Crowfoot Chapel, 82 Crowfoot Circle, NW Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Michael’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service. For those who are unable to view live, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
