Celebration of Life
Condolences
I’m so sorry we didn’t see this obituary until now, April 2023. We valued having you all as neighbours and miss those days. Donnie will be missed by so many, us included.
I will remember Don fondly.
I was lucky to have had him as our Royalty Director in 1996.
I always loved seeing his warm, kind , heartfelt smile.
My condolences to the Wilson Family.
Joanie, Linda, John and Steve
I'm so sorry I wasn't able to attend the service for Donnie on Friday. I just watched the service and it was a beautiful tribute. You were all in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure Donnie and my Dad were waiting for Olive with open arms and heaven won't be the same now because there's quite a gang of them up there now.
Joanie, you and Donnie were always very special to me. I remember going to Whitefish with you to 'look after' the kids, travelling down the highway listening to Janis Joplin full blast. I thought you two were the coolest couple ever!!
Take care of yourselves. Thanks goodness we have so many great memories.

My condolences to the Wilson family. Donnie was an amazing friend and business associate for many years. The good times he had with my Dad, Tom Cran are too numerous to list but so fondly remembered. The times they enjoyed when double dating were also fondly remembered. As a foursome there were some fun times. Our hearts break with you and we send love & prayers.
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your entire family at this sad time.
I've had the pleasure of being close to the Wilson family for many years in my teens and well into my mid to late twenties. I cannot say enough about the generosity and support they have always shown me and the memories are going to be with me forever. First class family lead by the patriarch who will be sadly missed by all who crossed his path... RIP Don.
Dear Joan, Linda, John and Steve. We were saddened to hear of Don’s passing and unfortunately we cannot attend the service. We will always remember his generosity, sincerity and kindness. Don was the consummate “people person” with the best smile and was a perfect reflection of a true Calgarian. Rest Peacefully Mr. Wilson.

Joan, Barbara and I were sorry to read of Donnie's passing. A true and dedicated Calgarian.
I was fortunate to work with Don as a member of Prudential's Board where he provided committed and vigorous leadership to the Board and the Company. He will be missed by many, many friends.

So very sad to heard of the passing of Donnie Wilson. It’s hard to lose the leader of the family, but his spirit will live on in family forever. The family is in my thoughts.
Joan, Linda and family,
I was saddened to hear about Donnie's passing. Keeping all of you in my heart as you mourn the death of your beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. I can only begin to imagine how much he will be missed.
My prayers and love go to the Wilson family and friends. He always made you feel important when you talked with him . A true gentleman. He will be missed but more importantly he will be fondly remembered.
Loren and I would like to send our condolences to Joan, Linda, John, Steve and family. I have many great memories of working at Prudential with Don as the VP and then President and CEO. He brought a culture to our office that was inclusive and fun. He treated everyone with a smile and class. Oh, so many stories.
RIP Donnie
I will never forget the support Donnie showed me. He was family but also a friend.
Sending love and prayers.
I had the privilege of meeting Donnie and Joanie 35 years ago, through our love of horses. Donnie was always the best turned out cowboy at every team penning and western event! He and Joanie were always warm, gracious, generous hosts and Rick, Sarah, Adam and I were so lucky they shared Calgary Stampede rodeos and concert experiences with us. Sarah and Adam, also reminded us of the many years Donnie sponsored the Youth Classes at Chinook Penning "back in the day" :) We will miss Donnie's always upbeat attitude and ready smile.
Jana and I were so saddened to hear of Don's passing. For many years it was always such a pleasure to compete with my son Mike and Rob Stirling against Don and the Amigos on the Team Penning circuit. Win or lose, he was always full of good humour and a genuine interest in others. A perfect example of what it means to be a "classy gentleman".
During the Stampede Jana and I always made it a point to arrange our hosting duties in the Brand Room at the same time as Don and Joan. It won't be the same without him.
Bill and I are so saddened to hear Don has left us. He was the nicest man you could ever hope to meet; always a smile upon seeing you snd was truly interested in how you were, I still can see him roaring into Mesa Country Club in his little hot Rod. He will be so missed by so many , especially Joannie they were a lovely lovely couple, our thoughts go to his children snd grand children , thinking of you Joannie love Bill and Jean
