Obituary of Grace Margaret Winfield

Grace Winfield (nee Graham) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at the age of 88 years.
Grace was born in Nora, Saskatchewan, on February 18, 1934. She met Norris Winfield in 1952 when they started a long relationship leading to a long and loving marriage on April 13th, 1953. They had six children along the way and eventually moved to Calgary, Alberta in 1966.
She was an exceptional mother to her children and devoted wife to the love of her life Norris. Grace accomplished many milestones through her life and was particularly proud of her children for what they had achieved in life.
Grace had a supervisor position with the retail chain Woodwards in the children’s wear department over 14 years.
She loved to sew, quite often you would find her hemming pants or making dresses for her children. She was a fan and participant in dancing of all kinds. An excellent cook creating great casseroles baking bread and buns to feed her family often.
She was a grass roots Saskatchewan girl who loved tea parties, pickling, making jams and loved to share! passing her recipes and knowledge on to family.
Grace was deeply respected with all in the community, frequently engaged in playing cards and board games at her resident building.
She will be sadly missed by friends and family.
Grace is survived by her sisters, Agnes Hollins, Grace (Vern) Braaten, and Gloria (Bud) Thompson. She is also survived by her children Jackie (Vince) Holtby, Darlene (Terry) Pocha, Lois (Al) Humm, Archie (Sylvia) Winfield, Brenda (Darcy) Welsh, Tom (Marlene) Winfield. She had 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Grace was predeceased by her loving husband Norris Winfield, grandson Garland Auvigne, brother Victor (Barb) Harrison and her sister Charlotte (Henry) Forseberg.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Winfield’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
