Condolences
Uniting with my 2nd cousin Margaret and her family has brought great joy and love to me. She was the last direct descendant of the Maxey clan, her mother Peggy, my grandmother's sister, and they were very close. My father Cyril was one of the few first cousins that my side of the family was in contact. My grandmother (her Aunt Marie) was Margaret & Mary's favorite auntie. Margaret worked long and hard to gather genealogy records which she freely shared.
Margaret's love and compassion for her children and grandchildren and many others was evident and a living tribute to each family member. I cherish the four times I visited Calgary and the efforts Margaret made to make me feel welcome; from a road trip to Canmore to see Uncle Bert's memorial, to a trip to Three Hills to experience the vast rolling plains where she grew up, I felt close to her, although our "friendship" was relatively young, I felt I had known her my whole life.
"That though the radiance which was once so bright be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour of splendor in the grass, glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind."
(William Wordsworth)

To the family of a very special aunt we send our condolences. Aunt Margaret was the last of what I call the original Bob Barnes children/family having married my Uncle Jack. I have many fond memories of the good times especially at Christmas at the house on Richmond Road when the whole family would get together and celebrate the season. As well Aunt Margaret will always be remembered for coming to my rescue when I had an appendicitis attack at the farm at Carbon. She has always been close to my heart and will be forever remembered as a kind and caring Aunt. Rest In Peace…you deserve our blessings! Annette & Bob King.

To Margaret's family
Our deepest condolences on the passing of our dear friend Margaret. We met 32 years ago when arrived to Calgary. She was like a mother to us and grandma to our two daughters Blanca & Maria Lissette. She was our guide star being immigrants in our new home Canada since day one. There are so many memories of her and her family that we will treasure for ever in our ❤.
Deepest condolences to Margaret's family. I was also a student in her class, she was a very special person to all of the students. She had time for everyone in school and out of school and later in years. If you needed some advice or guidance, she was always available to talk to. A very special and kind lady. She will be missed!

Margaret's Family,
Please accept our condolences on your Mother's passing.
From Doug, Donna, Christine, and David Barnes
Condolence’s to Margaret’s family. She made memories for grade one for both my sister Marilyn and I. With sadness and regret we send these wishes. Mrs Barnes was an inspiration to all of us who were lucky enough to have her as a teacher, for me it was 64 years ago.
I am so sorry for your loss. I knew this lovely woman as Mrs. Barnes when she was one of my favourite teachers in Carbon. My condolences to all if her family.
My condolences to all the immediate and extended family for the loss of such a beautiful soul. I first met Margaret when I was six years old and even though I couldn’t speak much English, I instantly liked her, she gave great hugs. Margaret blessed our newly immigrated family with her friendship. She was kind, generous, and had a wonderful perspective on life. As I grew up, she didn’t mind answering all the questions I had about anything and everything. Although, I learned to be careful of saying I was bored because she’d put me to work to cure me of my apparent boredom! One summer, Margaret took my sister and I on our first road trip ever to Vancouver, which sparked my love for road tripping and beautiful British Columbia. When my family’s house was being built, we lived in her basement for a few months, and 10 year old me was delighted to have easy access to the freezer which was full of raisin oatmeal cookies! Best. Cookies. Ever. Hands down. As time went on, I remember so many shared meals celebrating birthdays and special occasions. It always amazed me how she never forgot my birthday, she knew so many people and could keep track of a lot of birthdays. Margaret had a positive and brilliant impact on my life, and it’s been a privilege to have known her. I’ll keep all the memories of my grandma close to my heart. Love, Maria Lissette Lara (Saenz).
