Condolences
October 09. 2024. I have recently been reflecting on my first few years in Canada and the people who were kind to me and made me feel at home in their presence. Eleanor was one was them. I came into her life as a Caregiver. She was welcoming, and full of humour, and many times she made me laugh. One time she asked me what I desired to do beyond being a caregiver and I told her I wanted to pursue "Nursing". She looked at me in bewilderment and asked "You want to pursue "Nothing?". (Accent issues). When I finally rolled my tongue enough to pronounce Nursing we both burst out laughing and from then on she became my pronunciation mentor. I always looked forward to seeing her, every encounter was fun. She taught me how to play cards and sometimes we would go for walks. I miss her. Today I thought of her, googled her name, and came across this obituary. Sad moment. My condolences to the family, She was such a light. Rest in Power, my boss/friend.
Don and family, I was so sorry to learn of Eleanor's passing. You were both always so kind and welcoming when Jennifer and I would visit with John and Laurie. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Dear Don
Elizabeth and I remember Eleanor with the fondest of memories. She was a wonderful person. Elizabeth although not a Gin Rummy player entered the Rummy tournament at the Oilmens 2 years in a row with Eleanor as her partner. They won the tornament both years.
Our regrets to your entire family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eleanor will be missed.
Michael and Elizabeth Columbos
Dear Don,
I was saddened and very sorry to hear of Eleanors passing. From our family to all of yours our thoughts and sympathies are with you.
Regards and best wishes from,
Tobin, Jill, Hannah, Clare and Evan.
My memories of Eleanor go back a long time. Her home was always well stocked so Donna and I could make our beloved Dagwood sandwiches. Vitamin pills and advice were always there for any extra nutritional needs. And her continual pursuit of interesting supernatural/astrological knowledge fascinated me. In her later years, the support of Don and all the family truly reflected the values she instilled through her own devotion to family and friends.
Sending love and support to all the family during this difficult time.
My sincere condolences go to the Seaman family on the loss of your dear mom. My late parents, Mac and Betty Baker, were long time friends of the Seamans dating back to the SEDCO days in Peace River country circa 1950. Dad's company, Seismotech, partnered with them for a time. My folks lived in an Airstream trailer there before finally moving to a small house in Calgary in 1951. My mom thought that Eleanor was a really great lady !!
Again, my sympathy on your loss.
Sincerely yours,
Andy Baker
