Condolences
Back in 2000, when I started in foodservice sales, I called on John at the U of C. Every time I went in, Chef John bought something, made me feel like I was getting the hang of the sales thing, and more importantly, I came away energized.
I believe John bought for that reason, he invested in his own way in my path forward.
After that, at the chef meetings, I always wanted to catch up and see how he was doing and we always shared a smile and a chuckle.
RIP Chef and thank you,
John R
Our sincere condolences on John's passing. Always a smile and always willing to help out.

I knew John through his association with the calgary chefs academy. He was always of good spirits and made people feel welcome. A more genuine person could not be found. His smile snd warmth is well remembered by me. His volunteerism and unselfish contribution to many charitable functions showed him to be a very special person. I am saddened by his passing and will miss him greatly.
John, I will always remember the camp trip to Jasper a couple of years ago with Sally and you, have never had Lamb chops done on the outdoor open fire but boy they were good! Also the toaster thing you always use for toast made me laugh, not all old and decrepit things are useless, thank you for the memories. May you party hard up there oxox
My late husband Don Snell worked with your Dad at the Royal Canadian Legion #284 in the early 2000's. Don loved getting the kitchen ready and cooking the bacon as your Dad was still driving a school bus.Don loved working with John as he learned so much.I lost my Don in 2019 and I am so very sorry for you loss

I will always cherish all the different memories we shared from our camping trips to dinners spending New Year’s Eve together with Bernice and him . Always sharpening my knives and our times to the races where I won and the outsider and his horse was still running . There are endless camp fires to look back on . What would turn out to be our last camp trip together with the shooters he enjoyed . I will always raise a glass of his favourite wine on my camp trips . Thanks John for all you brought to my life. I will always miss the moment after our calls when you would say hang on a min “oh not bad only 30 mins” our sal! ❤️
