Maria de Zoete, beloved wife of Henry de Zoete of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 74 years.

Maria was born in Grimaldi, Italy, on January 5, 1948. She immigrated to Canada in 1967 and moved to Edmonton, AB. Maria met Henry in 1979, they were married in Kitchener, ON, on June 22, 1985. They embarked on various journeys across Canada making a home in multiple communities including Nelson, BC, Kitchener, ON, Waterloo, ON, Peachland, BC, Edmonton, AB, Welland, ON, and most recently Cochrane, AB.

Maria had a passion for cooking and loved to entertain. Gardening, having a welcoming home, and baking with her granddaughters were very near and dear to her heart.

Family meant everything to Maria, and she will always be remembered with love by her husband Henry, and children, Pasquale (Natalina), and Roberto (Stephanie) Marrello. She will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Sabrina, Antonio, Sophia, and Isabella.   She is survived by her mother-in-law Francina, siblings, Aquino (Giuseppina), Rosina, Giuseppe (Maria), and Mario (Franca); sisters-in-law, Ida, Gemma, Frances (Tony), Jenny (Ron), and Corrine (John). Maria was predeceased by her parents, Antonio and Maria (Amelia) Pagnotta; her father-in-law Cornelis, and siblings, Lorita, Adelina, Guido, Gino, Saverio, Assunta, and Modesto.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. A gathering to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
