Obituary of Annunziata (Tina) Vok

March 25, 1927 – Fermignano, Pesaro/Urbino, Italy

December 11, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Tina Vok passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years on Sunday, December 11, 2022.

Tina was born in Fermignano, Italy, on March 25, 1927, where she developed a passion for cooking and met the love of her life, Antonio. They married in October 1953, and shortly after Tina embarked on the adventure of her life, immigrating to Calgary, Canada, and right away attended English classes to immerse herself into the Canadian culture. Soon after, they started their family, where Tina passionately took on the role of mother and nurturer. Tina worked as a professional seamstress and ended her career with The Hudson Bay Company after 25 years of service. She enjoyed hosting family and friends. A visit to Tina’s home always meant leaving with a heart full of love and a belly full of delicious homemade Italian cuisine.

Tina has left us all with a lifetime of memories to share and will always be in our hearts.

Tina is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Franca and Jerry DeGusti, and her son Ivan Vok. She will be greatly missed by her six grandchildren, Jeffrey and Berenice DeGusti, Lindsey DeGusti and Trevor Kinsey, Mark Vok, and Sara Vok; and four great-grandchildren, Matteo and Sophia DeGusti, and Briella and Liliana Kinsey. Tina is also survived by her sister Maria Pantaleoni of Milan, Italy, along with nieces, nephews, and cousins in Italy. She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-one years, Antonio Vok in 2015.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church (2424 - 24th Avenue N.W.) on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum. Reception to follow at St. Pius X Church Hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
