Obituary of Elisabeth IBACH

November 28, 1940 – Schopfheim, Germany May 5, 2019 – Calgary, Alberta Elisabeth Ibach of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the age of 78 years. Elisabeth was born in Schopfheim, Germany on November 28, 1940. She immigrated to Canada in 1959, where she married her beloved husband Horst in 1961. Elisabeth and Horst were well travelled, going all around the world to Toronto, Iran, Vancouver and Tehran. She loved going to Switzerland, Hawaii and Hidleburg. Elisabeth accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of her pro tennis days in Europe, where she also enjoyed many ski trips. She had a passion for dancing, and in her younger years she loved driving fast cars, specifically the red Ferrari her and her husband Horst would take on drives together. Liz always made sure Horst was well looked after. When she was unable to care for him herself, she went every day to see him whether he was in the hospital or seniors home, she never missed a day. Elisabeth is survived by Gertriid and Heinz Goeckel of Missassauga, ON; Klara and Wernder Weisl; Marta Muser; and her niece Monika Rigert; and two very special friends Matt Albridge, and Elaine Pratt and Family. Elisabeth was predeceased by her husband Horst Ibach, three brothers and thirteen sisters. A Graveside Service will be held at St Mary’s Cemetery () on Sunday, May 12, 2019 at 2:00p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through www.McInnisandHolloway.com.
