Benjamin Haines of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 36 years.

 

Benjamin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was a Major Appliance Technician for ten years, six of those years were spent working with his father Gordon. He was proud of becoming an uncle to his two nephews and was a self-sufficient independent man.

 

Benjamin was passionate about building RC vehicles, spending time with friends and family, travelling, softball, gaming, debating, kayaking, and was technologically gifted. He was also a graduate of SAIT Polytechnic with a Major appliance technician journeyman certificate.

 

Benjamin will be most remembered for his determination, sense of humour, love for friends and family, and ability to seize the day.

 

Benjamin is survived by his father Gordon Haines (Jodie) of Calgary, AB; his sister Robin Haines (Keenan Dean) of Saskatoon, SK, and nephews, Hunter and Hudson. He is also survived by his grandmother Dorena Pageot of Calgary, AB, best friend Julian Ritchie of Etobicoke, ON, and uncles, Dan Pageot (Gail) of Calgary, AB, Bruce Haines (Elizabeth) and Tom Haines of Winnipeg, MB and Aunt Lori Haines of Vancouver, BC. Benjamin was predeceased by his mother Christina Haines, his grandparents, Hazel and Richard Haines and aunt Kathleen Haines of Winnipeg, MB.

 

A Celebration of Ben's Life will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023. More information will be provided closer to the service date. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.

 

The family extends their thank you to all the staff and residents at the Carewest Garrison Green for their beauty and kindness and to Foothills Hospital Unit 58 for their exemplary care.
