Obituary of Eileen Marilyn Clement

Eileen Clement beloved wife of Charles Clement of Calgary, Alberta, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the age of 84 years.

The daughter of Saskatchewan farmers, Eileen was a lady of traditional values and beliefs. Born on November 21, 1938, in Regina, Saskatchewan, she grew up on the family farm near Odessa, Saskatchewan. She was intelligent, determined, graceful and loving. She took pride in her home and kept it in spotless condition.  She was a talented seamstress, who created beautiful garments and practical accessories. 

Eileen and Chuck were married for 54 years, one month and one day. Together they raised their much-loved daughters, Charlene and Carolyn. Eileen faithfully supported Chuck in his work in the aviation industry, and never complained when his work took him away from home for periods of time. 

Eileen and Chuck took part in many activities together. They had happy adventures touring in their motor home, camping at Buck Lake with their family, and snowmobiling in the mountains with friends.  Eileen was a natural athlete, from playing baseball and riding her bike in her childhood to waterskiing and alpine skiing in her adulthood.  Later in life, Eileen and Chuck enjoyed cruising to many parts of the world and undertaking onshore excursions to see the sights wherever they were docked: South America, the Panama Canal, Japan, Australia and New Zealand, Alaska, Norway, the Caribbean and more.

In recent years, Eileen faced the challenges of failing health and loss of mobility with courage and quiet dignity. She enjoyed going for drives with Chuck while holding their beloved chihuahua, Marley, on her lap. Ice cream from Dairy Queen was a special treat. Most of all, she loved time with her family, her husband Chuck, daughters and son-in-law Charlene and Mike, and Carolyn, and her grandchildren Christopher, Ella, Soren, and Georgia.

Eileen’s presence will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved her.
