Obituary of Gillian Louise Swan

February 15, 1947 - Forfar, Scotland

December 18, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

We said goodbye on Sunday, December 18, 2022, to a beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister, Gillian Louise Swan, after a valiant fight with cancer.

Gillian was born in Montrose, Scotland on February 15, 1947, to William and Norma Swan, a little sister for Jack and Maureen. She had an exciting childhood as an RAF child, spending time at various stations in Scotland, England, Germany, and Malta. She came to Canada in 1963 to live in Winnipeg with her mum and dad and subsequently moved to Calgary. There she welcomed her son, James, and spent many happy years at Theatre Calgary. She also found the love of her life, Normand Bouchard. The two spent many happy hours together on the golf course and at their winter home in Palm Springs. Their later years were made even fuller in 2011 when James and his wife Vicki presented them with a grandson, William.

After a life well lived Gillian is survived by her husband, Normand, son James and his wife Vicki, grandson William, brother Jack and wife Stella, nephew Robert and Tennille and niece Katrina, husband Tim and their children, Wyatt, and Blake, and her many, many friends.

Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
