Obituary of Vernon Luke Twoyoungmen

It is with profound sadness that we announce our beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and father-in-law, Vernon “Smink’’ Twoyoungmen, passed at his late father Irby Cecil’s residence.

Vernon was born on May 1, 1982. He received his education at the Morley Community School. He had a passion for cooking, baseball, hunting, fishing, and hockey. In his previous jobs, he pursued his cooking career at the Nakoda Lodge and as a carpenter for housing. Dad loved horses, especially his horse “Spirit” that grew up with him.

He is loved, cherished, and will be remembered by his children Shawntayia (Kailum), and Mila; his granddaughter Ezlynn, and the mother of his girls, Jerita; his siblings Cedric (Rachel) and Myrna; and his adopted mom Antoinette Smalleyes. He is also survived by his adopted sisters, Nettie, Kerry, Marcy, and Tiffany; and his adopted brother Donald. As well as his nephews Tyvin, Marcus, Dylan, Courtlen, Travin and Benji Jr.; his nieces, Norah, Kashaye, Tyreena, Kassidy, Destiny, and Arihanna; his grandchildren, Daykian, Lilyanne, Ahniel, Lylen, Dayla, Keyone, Aria, Koyven, Xayzven and Alehra, and numerous cousins, aunties, uncles, and grandparents.

He is also survived by families from Twoyoungmen, Cecil, Amos, Beaver, Brown, Francis, Simeon, Holloway, Bigstoney, Salter, Wesley, Lefthand, Dixon, Snow, and Powderface. We apologize if we missed anyone.

He was predeceased by his parents Irby (2021) and Marilyn (2000), brother Spoodee (Shelly) (2016); cousins Arvid (2020), Roosevelt (2021), Ian and Hayden (2021); aunties Delores (2020) and Hailey; nephews Chase (2021) and Zyon (2021); niece Jayda (2021); daughters and sons; and his grandparents Eveline Cecil, Gordon, Jessie Amos, Jo Brown, Winnie (Jensen)Francis, Elisa Holloway, Alice ( Arthur) Twoyoungmen, and May Amos.

Wake Services will be held at the residence of the late Vernon Twoyoungmen (Morley, AB) on Thursday, December 22, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB) on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Brown Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
