December 24, 2022 - Calgary, Alberta

Lillian Lyall of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the age of 83 years due to diabetes and pancreatitis complications.

She was born November 5, 1939 in Bruno, SK to Emile and Helene Dauvin. She eloped and married Gordon Richard Lyall who preceded her in death in 2017.

Lillian had a very close bond with her family and friends. She did her very best to keep in close contact and up on all the gossip, family announcements, adventures, and endeavors. She had a passion for sports, especially baseball and hockey. Would very rarely miss a game even if she could only watch on TV. Was completely in her element if she could catch a game live especially if a relative was playing in Calgary. She enjoyed history and loved books on biographies of famous people. She had a passion for crocheting and counted cross stitch. Another passion of Lillian’s was gardening, loved planting flowers in the spring and had a love for Christmas cactus but the bird of paradise was her absolute favorite.

Lillian is survived by her three sons Jeffrey, Ian Lyall and Mark Dauvin (Lynn); three grandchildren Travis, Curtis, and Brandon (Amanda); and great grandson Jameson. Lillian will be truly missed by her family and friends whom she deeply touched over the years.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring in Saskatchewan, her ashes will be spread in Peterson Saskatchewan as per her final wishes to be with her mother and father. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.

In living memory of Lillian Lyall, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB T2A 3V9, Telephone: 403-248-8585.
