Tyren Jacobs of Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022 at the age of 24 years.

Tyren Jonathan Jacobs was born on September 24, 1998 and entered into Creator’s arms on December 25, 2022. He loved his nieces and nephews to the fullest, he was a very devoted uncle right until the day he passed. His unconditional love for his friends and family was sincere and genuine. He had crazy ways of showing his love for you, if you knew, you knew. His personality consisted of humor, compassion, and loyalty. He was adventurous, carefree and his sense of humor was always on point, he often exaggerated his point to you. He was always there to make you laugh and annoy the heck out of you, especially when you didn’t even know you needed it.

Tyren had a love for hockey and lacrosse, he participated in the North American Indigenous Games, two different times. He worked in many different areas; carpentry, iron worker alongside his brother Rob, golf course maintenance crew, Childcare and Recreation, he loved working with the children of the Nation. Most recently he completed the Good Workers Program, which he enjoyed. If he wasn’t gaming with his best brother Troy, he would be in the bush cutting wood with his best cousin brother Larenz. He was a huge part of everyone’s life, and he will be missed by many.

Tyren is survived by his mother Michelle Jacobs, his father Darren Courchene, his sisters Isabelle (Terrence), Christine, Alexandra and Karlynn; his brothers Robert, Pace, Steven, Keegan and Bobby Courchene; his nieces Kamea, Vienna and Lalaney Jacobs, Candace and Stevie Courchene, nephews Tallis Jay, Tayden Jordan and Antwan Cruz; his Paternal Grandmother Margaret Courchene, his uncles Virgil (Esther) Jacobs, Joe (Tammy) Courchene, and Allan (Lori) Courchene; and his Aunts Ida (George), Cynthia (Adrian), Yolanda (Todd), Toni (Dennis), Dixie (Dave) Swampy, Amanda and Jackie.
