Obituary of Dennis George Dressler

August 20, 1944 - Estevan, Saskatchewan

December 26, 2022 – New York, United States of America

Denis George Dressler beloved husband of Joyce Dressler (nee Toews) of Okotoks, Alberta, suddenly went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 26, 2022, at the age of 78. We knew him as a beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Denis was born in Estevan, Saskatchewan on August 20, 1944. He was the second child of George and Paula Dressler (nee Lizee). For much of his life, Denis was a farmer, and he stayed true to his Saskatchewan roots and sensibilities. When he moved to Alberta in 1995, Denis embraced new opportunities as a successful entrepreneur building his auto detailing and signage distribution business. Denis was passionate about sports – especially hockey. He played, coached and was an avid fan of the Calgary Flames. He treasured his wife Joyce more than anything else on earth. They were married for almost 25 years. Denis was kind, generous, fun-loving, and considerate of others. He had a heart for service and missions. He was always careful to place the needs of others ahead of his own.

Denis will be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce, her children, Chad (Liliana) and Carleigh (Eric); and adored grandchildren, Olivia and Chloé. He will also be dearly missed by his sister Joan and her children, Amber and Willow (Jamie); and her grandchildren, Mikel Shea, Trey, Destiny and Abbie. Denis will always have a special place in the hearts of Auntie Suzanne and family, Michel and numerous cousins.  He will also be remembered by sister-in-law Sandi (Harold) and family.

Denis was preceded in death by his father George and mother Paula, brother Vern and brother-in-law Hal.

He is also survived by his son Curtis (Nadine) and daughter Terry-Lynne (Jim); grandchildren Dillon (Cas) and Paisley (Ryley); and great-granddaughter Sienna.

A Celebration of Denis’ life will be held at Okotoks Evangelical Free Church (28 Westland Rd, Okotoks, AB T1S 1T2) Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Okotoks Cemetery.
