Obituary of Julita Azores Abulon

April 7, 1940 – San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines

December 27, 2022 – Calgary, Alberta

Julita Abulon (Azores), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at the age of 82 years.

Julita was born in San Carlos, Pangasinan, Philippines on April 7, 1940. She visited Calgary, AB, Canada in 2012 and then immigrated to Canada in 2017. Julita graduated from the National University with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. Julita married Victor in 1967. She accomplished much through her life and was particularly proud of being a recipient of a  full-pay scholarship in the Netherlands.

Julita enjoyed reading books, and word puzzles including Sodoku. Her most memorable vacation was when she travelled to Victoria, British Columbia. Julita’s favourite saying was “Do your best and God will do the rest." She will be most remembered for her endless patience and calmness.

Julita is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Zovinita and Alec Estoconing of Calgary; a son and daughter-in-law, Reonie and Edna Luz Abulon of Quezon City, Philippines; six grandchildren, Azel and Zaelle Estoconing both of Calgary, and Reonelle, Ron Zoriel, Rovic, and Rain all Manila. She is also survived by two brothers, Roger and Rudy; in-laws, and their children in the Philippines. Julita was predeceased by her husband, Victor, a sister, and a brother.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on January 5, 2023, at 6:00 PM. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. 

Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Mrs. Abulon’s service streamed live (see below) on the day of the service.
