Travin Snow

Obituary of Travin Joseph Snow

December 31, 1995 – Calgary, Alberta

January 3, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep and profound sadness in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Travin Snow who was called home by our Creator on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the tender age of 27 years, surrounded by his family. He had a huge heart and was a caring and respectful man.

Travin was born in Calgary on December 31, 1995, and he attended Morley Community School.

Tray lived for his baby boy TJ, he always wanted the best for him and to live his life to the fullest. Tray looked forward to the family outings, the trips to the United States, hockey tournaments to cheer on his siblings at provincials and treaties, even going to the local arena for Rec tourneys and Castle Mountain to cut-n-peel. His favourite place to travel to was Las Vegas.

Tray loved being around his family and loved his siblings. Each having their own nickname for him, and each loving him in their own way. He had a huge heart and would give you the shirt off his back. He was that kind of person; you would want him in your corner as he always had your back. Tray always made sure everyone around him was doing ok. He loved all his grandpas and grandmas, aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Most of all he loved his parents, his siblings and especially TJ.

Tray loved the fact that he was a father and was going to support his son. He enjoyed working at the Morley arena with his sister Kayla. He also enjoyed working security at Banff Indian Days and other powwows in Morley, and the Canadian Tire in Canmore.

Tray loved animals, he owned two budgie birds, Captain and Blue. He loved to take care of all the family pets, the horses, cats and especially the dogs. His favorite out of all the dogs was Grunt, who was also Tray’s oldest dog.

He was a great storyteller and could make you believe you travelled with him and make you feel like you were experiencing it along with him for the first time.

Tray had a caring heart, he lived in Morley all his life and had family in both Mini Thni and Siksika Nation. He loved both reserves, always knew his roots and loved that he was part of a relay family.

Tray’s dad owned Running Wolf and his cousins helped their relay teams in Siksika and Tray’s Auntie and Uncle Wyonah and Irvin’s team in Souix-Foot. Tray loved our relay trips, he had a relay family having the Running Wolf name given to his dad, mom, himself, and his siblings. The Running Wolf name being given to the family was important to Tray. He encouraged his siblings to succeed and be good in life, that’s just the person he was. He always pushed his brothers and sisters to help his mom and dad in building a ranch for their horses and miniature horses, Rambo, and Spooks.

Tray loved making new friends everywhere he went. All his nieces and nephews loved him because he had a gentle soul. He was interested in history at a very young age and wanted to join the army. If you asked Tray how many countries there were in the world, he could tell you and if you were to name a country, he would know its history. That is how much Tray loved history.

Travin was our warrior and a leader in his family and helped teach his siblings the difference between right and wrong. Tray will be truly missed by his parents, TJ, his siblings, and all those who knew him.

May you rest in peace Travin Snow.
