Obituary of Judith (Judy) Louden

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Judith (Judy) Marlene Louden at 1:51 pm on Thursday, Jan 12, 2023 at the age 81 years. 

She was surrounded by her family when she passed and is survived by her loving husband Ron; daughters, Deb (Jeff) and Kari (John); grandchildren, Allie (Jordan), Meagan (Alex) and Mark; step-grandchildren, Rikki (Dylan) and Randi; sisters, Joan and Susan (Ken); nieces, Jenn (Wesley), Terra (Mark), Danielle (Shayne), Becky (Ryan), Tess (Devon); nephews, Scott, Trevor (Katy), Cale (Kayley), Jesse (Arielle) and Michael; a bunch of great-nieces and nephews and many friends. 

Judy was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, aunt, nana and friend. She was loved by all who met her and will live on in all of our hearts. A shining light, she was always kind, firm, strong, intelligent and most of all proud. The matriarch, she loved her family, and everyone flocked to her. She always kept you fed with the most amazing baking and preserves - she enjoyed taking care of those around her.
 
Throughout her life Judy was always the one who made you look when she walked into the room, always fabulous, even winning the title of Mrs. Calgary in 1988. From the sidelines of the McMahon Stadium where she was a Stampette (Stampeder Cheerleader) to the Kinettes, where she was President for a few years. She even used her fluent French when she volunteered for the 1988 Winter Olympics. She really made her mark. 

She maintained her strength, grace, wit, and sass right until the end and her absence will be felt by many. 

Judy’s wishes are a small funeral for family with a celebration of life following. 

A Small Family Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. A Celebration of Judy’s Life will be held at Aviemore (48 Inverness Gate SE, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
