Dennis Bankhead

Obituary of Dennis Wayne Bankhead

October 15, 1966 – Grande Prairie, Alberta

January 13, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, uncle, and brother, Dennis Bankhead. He was a fun loving, charismatic joker, and silent type (Lord help you once he was comfortable with you). Our lives are forever changed without you amongst us, the love in our hearts and the sweet memories we share are with us forever. Please join us in celebrating this man, gone all too soon.

Dennis was born in Grande Prairie on October 15, 1966. He moved to Calgary, Alberta, in 2006. Dennis graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) with a degree in Instrumentation Technology. Dennis married Nicola in 2010.

Dennis was a member at Carnmoney Golf & Country Club, where you could always share a laugh and some birdie juice with him. He accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his two girls. He enjoyed golf, hockey, snowmobiling, traveling, and spending time cooking with family and friends. His most memorable vacation was every vacation, each for its own memory. Fun stories from each trip are always shared among family and friends.  How could one stand out over any other.

Dennis had many quotes; “costs nothing to pay attention”, “everything bacon”, “chop chop be bop”, and “Rocky Mountain barking spiders” were just a few.

He will be most remembered for his cheeky grin and calm demeanor.

Besides his loving wife Nicola, Dennis is survived by his two daughters, Caitlin (Brett) and Delayne (Brett) of Calgary, AB; his two stepchildren, Austin (Lisa) and Taylor (Tom) of Calgary, AB; and his three grandchildren, Nellie, Blakely, and Forrest, of Calgary, AB.

Dennis is also survived by his parents, Lonnie and Eileen Bankhead of Wembley, AB; his sister, Shelly (Doug) Wembley, AB, as well as his niece Dillan, and numerous family and friends.
