Obituary of Holly Anne McCartney
April 10, 1959 – Ponoka, Alberta
January 15, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta
Holly McCartney (nee Kisinger) beloved wife of Orville John Edward McCartney, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the age of 63 years
Holly was born on April 10, 1959, in Ponoka, AB. Holly married her husband Orville McCartney in 2015. She was a production accountant in the oil industry for forty years. She accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her family and many close friends.
Holly had a passion for football and particularly the Broncos & Stamps. She also enjoyed fishing and loved Karaoke but will be the first to tell you she was a better dancer than singer.
Holly’s most memorable vacations were being able to take some of our children to Mexico. We will all have those memories forever.
The lake was her happy place and she loved watching the stars at night. "We don’t get many nights like this", was my cue to light up the firepit where everyone was welcome. She was always ready to welcome and help newcomers.
Holly’s favourite sayings were many. "Just Sayin", "That’s right", and “Who has more fun than us?”, and many more “Hollyisms”. She will be most remembered for her smile, laugh and personality, as well as her sense of humor. She was the most beautiful, big-hearted, kind, fiery, and fun woman I have ever met. You were most definitely one-of-a-kind babe. I miss you so much!
Besides her loving husband Orville, Holly is survived by her three daughters, Cally (Tanner) Berry, Leah (Braden) Finstad, Tanya (Jason) Matthie, her grandchildren, Luca Rain Berry, Shaye Matthie, and Amber Kowalyk, and her great grandchildren, Lucas and Sawyer Edwards.
Holly is also survived by her mother Ruby Kisinger, sister Dixie (Bruce) Cameron, and brothers Miles (Lolly) Kisinger, and Ger (Debbie) Kisinger and many friends.
Holly was predeceased by her father, Art Kisinger, brother, Darcy Kisinger, sister-in-law, Ellie Kisinger, and brother-in-law, Harley McCartney.
A celebration of Life for Holly will be announced at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
Holly
Time goes by so very fast
How did we know it wouldn’t last?
We were young & didn’t care
Then got older& began to scare
Could we live all our dreams?
Or are we too late it seems
When you find the one meant for you
You pray that she knows it too
Sooner would have been better
But life gets in the way
I am so glad I met her
And she is here to stay
We both have beautiful girls
They are the love of our life
We both got three
When I made her my wife
This is about my love
The most beautiful wife
Who fits me like a glove
And brings joy to my life
She has left us too soon
Life will never be the same
I will always smile
When you mention her name
Love you forever babe!
Orv
