Condolences
Jim & Lynda (Fuhrman) Crittall
We are so saddened to hear of Daryl’s passing.
Daryl and I were born ~6 weeks apart, and our parents, being good friends, would often pop Daryl and I into the same crib while they visited. Over the years Daryl and I played piano duets together and competed against each other and were often in the same high school class. Saturday nights after the 7 pm show ended and COOP closed our families would meet up at the Pewtress’. Also Christmas Eve after church, again at the Pewtress’.
Over the years Daryl’s and my paths would cross until finally Dot, then Daryl, made the move to Calgary where our families once again saw more of each other.
I’m going to miss the ready friendship, that rich baritone voice but mostly those mischievous eyes that were always ready for a good laugh.
Our Condolences to Daryl’s family.

I have so many wonderful memories of Daryl, both growing up in the Netherhill/Kindersley area and later in Calgary. Our families were close and would get together for various celebrations. Daryl was fun loving, outgoing and always ready to enrich the party with a song or two….and especially proud and pleased when Elizabeth was by his side. I will miss the sparkle in his eyes, his laugh, quick wit, and humour.
Ray & I send our deepest condolences to the family.
Daryl was part of our Netherhill family and a vivid memory of growing up on the prairies during the most innocent days of the Ed Sullivan show on Sunday nights and the annual Kiwanis music festival in the big town down the highway from our village. We’d never heard a voice like his in real life only on our flickering black and white tv. He and our mother were fast friends. The sound of their combined laughter is one of my most poignant memories of visiting the Pewtress home with Mom and Dad for those legendary Sunday brunches of his equally legendary mother “Dot”’ . Deepest love to the family at this most difficult time. Roxana
Condolences to friends and family, I remember having him as my drama teacher; great memories.
So sorry to hear the Passing of Mr. Pewtress who taught me choir so many years and played in the orchestra with so many of us. He was an inspiration to so many. Deepest Sympathies to all the family.
Thinking of you today as you grieve the loss of your dad and grandpa but also celebrate his wonderful accomplishments!
I worked with Daryl for many years at ISS and enjoyed our many talks, laughter and visits to the library (Blairmore Legion) on Friday’s after school solving the worlds problems!

Daryl was my teacher in high school, and I enjoyed performing with him in the many performances with the Mountain Players Amateur Theatre Group. He was such a talented man!
To Liz, Michael and families; I extend my sincere condolences to you on the loss of your Dad and Grandpa. I was privileged to be part of the Crowsnest Community Choir under Daryl's direction and have many fond memories of those days. The practices, the concerts, the provincial festival (twice!). It was truly wonderful. I loved how his sometimes moody persistence (artists eh??) resulted in our good performances. It always paid off, he surely did know what he was doing! If my dear friends Monica P and Pat N were still on earth; I know that they too would want to send their sympathy along to you and remark on the unforgettable, so very enjoyable choir days. I hope you treasure your good memories of Daryl to carry you through this hard time. I will never forget the joy that singing in his choir brought to me. Sincerely, Shirley Gardiner
