January 18, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, daughter, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend, Sara Lynn Beaver, on Wednesday January 18, 2023, at the age of 22 years.
Sara was a beautiful, brave woman; she was courageous, and a true warrior. Despite the many obstacles she faced in her short life, she had a very strong character and had countless goals/dreams. She loved all those she met, and was very loved by her family and friends. Sara had this beautiful laugh that filled any room you walked into. Her favourite saying was, “Ew real ugly!” Sara was raised with the traditional knowledge of kinship and always referred to everyone by her respected relationship with family and friends.
She attended Exshaw, Morley Community School, for various training and was employed with the Stoney Nakoda Resort. A fashionista at its finest, she was a talented makeup artist, and enjoyed playing makeup with her aunty/sisters. Some of her other hobbies included beading, dancing and playing with her baby girl. The highlight of Sara’s life was bringing in her beautiful baby daughter. She was so proud and excited to become a mom, prepared months in advance for her arrival, shopped all the time for Braelynn, had birthday and Christmas gifts always, and made sure she was well taken care of.
Sara was born September 22, 2000, she was the only daughter to Mother Mandy Beaver, and her late father Herman Rabbit; Mother to her precious baby girl, Braelynn Beaver; sister to Gage, Blaze and Simon Beaver. She is also survived by her grandparents, Thelma, Verna (Tyrone), Krista, Lorraine, Marlene, Frances, Tracy (Mike), Tilda (Audley), Nigel, Ron, John, Coleman, Lenny, Harlan, Greaves and Connie (Eddie); great-grandmas, Maryjane Beaver and Florence Firingstoney; aunties, Gail (Kendal), Merissa (Roger), Nate, Jamie, Alanna, Alysia, Bree, Aprilvonna, Alieka, Dez, Melvette, Leah, Leilani, Charith, Marika, Marcia, Sunshine, Chelsea, Robin and Ramona-Momo; uncles, Preston, Kenton, Cory, Neil, Kreelin, Keely, Tylen, Albert Jr., Mark Jr., Marlin, Kobe, Emlio and Payden; her special cousins Akiedas, Shidell, Sequin, and Jayden as well as numerous cousins and extended family from the Beaver, Rabbit, Simeon, Kootenay, Poucette, Crawler, Dixon, Wildman, Hunter, House, Susan, Shortneck, Holloway, Powderface, Kaquitts, Crowchief and Manywounds families; as well as from the Mascwacis, Bighorn, Alexis and Paul Bands.
