Chooshina House was called home by our Creator on Friday, January 20, 2023, at 4:30 a.m., at the age of 31 years. She was born on April 10, 1991, in the ambulance between Canmore and Banff.

Shina had a big heart; she was always there for anyone who needed help. She would always put a smile on your face, always made you laugh, and made you feel loved, even just by walking into a room (anywhere) she would brighten everyone’s day. She worked at the Nakoda Lodge as a housekeeper and in banquets for almost ten years with her mom and her sisters, at the Rodeo Center cooking for the elders, and prior to that she worked at Centex as a custodian. She had a deep love for her spiritual ways in both Cree and Stoney traditions. Her favourite hobbies were playing Halo, Call of Duty and Saints Row, she loved listening to music and watching comedy and horror movies (mostly old school). She enjoyed going for long walks and drives, but mostly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces.

Shina is survived and sadly missed by her parents, Roy House and Cindy Noname; sisters, Crystal (Hugh) and Carrie (Jody); nieces, Jennifer, Cali, Ryan, Margot, Neveah and Eaglestar; nephews Barry Jr. and Earry; grandmothers, Lorraine and Diane; great-great-grandmother, Maryann Noname, Auntie Candice, Uncles, Dayne, Barry, Marlon and her little uncle Kanen; as well as numerous aunties, uncles, and cousins from both families.

Shina was predeceased by her brother Ryan House, aunties, Angela House, Charlene Noname, Jennifer Noname, and Tara Noname; uncle Leslie House, grandfather Roy Lloyd Hunter, and grandmother Marget House.

Prayer Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB), on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, at 12:00 p.m.  Wake Services will be held at the residence Roy House (Morley, AB) on Wednesday, January 25, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at Morley Gymnasium on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Wesley Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Peter Lougheed Center, ICU unit 28, for the care they gave to them and to Shina while she was there.
