Obituary of Vladimir Robert Loskot

Vladimir Robert Loskot, beloved husband of Maria Loskot, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023, at the age of 88 years.

 

Vladimir was born on August 12, 1934, in Prague, Czechoslovakia. He spent his earliest years in Prague going to school and working, including military service. He then graduated from a four-year program at the Prague College of Hygiene to practice dentistry.

 

Vladimir immigrated to Canada in 1968 in search of a better life for his family. He worked hard to build a life in Canada. He completed his Alberta Apprenticeship as a Certified Dental Technician to continue working in his field. Then he started his own business, Acadia Southcentre Denture Clinic, where he served patients in the Calgary area from 1973 until his retirement in 2002. He was highly skilled in his craft and was loved by many for his excellent work.

 

Vladimir married Maria Lourdes (Villegas) in 1986, celebrating 37 years of marriage in 2023.

 

Outside of work, Vladimir enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends, listening to music, watching movies, telling jokes, swimming, camping, skiing, and dancing. He also enjoyed learning new things about health and science, and he loved staying current with the latest technologies.

 

Vladimir is survived by his wife Maria, his three sons Vladimir (Sandra), Robert (Jocelyn), and Christopher; four grandchildren, his cousin Marushka, and nieces Eva and Jana in the Czech Republic. Vladimir was predeceased by his mother, Karla.

 

Vladimir will be most remembered for his love of family and his incredible strength of character.
