Obituary of Robert (Bob) Huntley Craig

August 24, 1932 - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

January 25, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert “Bob” Huntley Craig, on January 25, 2023, at the age of 90 years. The second of nine children, he moved from Moose Jaw, SK, to Calgary, AB, as a young child and lived the rest of his time in this great city near the Rockies.

Bob was a proud employee of CP Rail for 39 years. He loved spending time in the outdoors and was an active and faithful long-time member of St. George’s Anglican Church. Bob was passionate about vegetable gardening, camping in the Rockies, trout fishing on the Highwood River, and participating in winter activities like curling, skating, and snowshoeing.  He thrived by staying active. At 90 years young, his garden was as plentiful as ever.  He took great pride in his home and was always kind and willing to help out where needed.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife of 46 years, Margaret. He is survived by his daughter Colleen and son-in-law Ed, his grandson Tyson, and seven of his siblings and their families.

We would like to thank all of those who have supported Bob and his family during this difficult time. Special gratitude to the kind and loving aides and nurses from Ohana Home Care.

Funeral Services will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church (2523 – 56th Street NE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of The Bells, 2720 Centre Street North, Calgary, AB). Family and friends who are unable to attend in person are invited to join Bob’s service streamed live on the day of the service at the following link:
