Eddie Miller of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the age of 92 years after a good, long life.

Ed was born in Hanna, AB on December 23, 1930, to Abraham and Jean Miller, the middle of three boys. His family moved to Calgary around 1934, a few years after Jean passed away. Eddie was an Air Cadet and a member of the Sat-Teen Club as a teenager. He graduated from Western Canada High School in 1949, attended the University of Idaho graduating in 1959 and spent his career as a petroleum geologist. He had a long career in Alberta’s oil and gas industry. He was a member of the APEGGA (The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta), The Petroleum Club, and the Calgary Sketch Club.

In 1959, he married Rosemary, they raised their family in Glamorgan and Lake Bonavista. He enjoyed listening to jazz and swing records, was an avid reader, and loved all kinds of sports, golf, Stampede Wrestling, the Calgary Stampeders, and the Calgary Flames.

Ed was an avid painter of Alberta landscapes; he enjoyed art shows where he sold his paintings and cards. Retiring in 1986, he and Rosemary lived their lives to the fullest with dinner parties, golfing, reading, travelling, painting, bowling, fishing, and coffee at Tim’s.

He was well-loved by his family and friends, who remember him for his sense of humour, his smile, and his generosity. He will be most remembered for his devotion to his wife Rosemary and being the ultimate gentleman, a quality admired by his grandsons.

Eddie is survived by his wife Rosemary; son, Blake (Sachiko); daughter, Leslie; and his grandsons, Jesse, and Gage. Eddie was predeceased by his brothers Albert (Phyllis) and Norman (Marie), father Abe and mother Jean.
