Maria Baptiste was called home by our Heavenly Father on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the age of 29 years.

Maria had a very strong character, she was loving, kind-hearted and softspoken. She had a big heart. She was an outgoing and caring beautiful young woman. She was always there for everyone. Whenever we needed a shoulder to cry on. She was there, as we were for her. She loved her kids regardless of whatever anyone said. She had patience and she was very independent.

She loved music, she would send her sisters the latest Rihanna songs, as she was her favourite artist. One of her talents was playing the piano. She would sit and practice new tunes and melodies for hours. She has the privilege of playing at her grade 8 graduation at Exshaw school. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother to her daughter. Together they would go for walks to the park, and just stay home to be all girly.

Maria is survived by her mother Cecelia Baptiste, her father Hervey Baptiste; her children, Sean Baptiste and Bailey Rae Baptiste; her sisters, Colleen and Darla Baptiste; her brother Todd (Krissy) Baptiste; her special nieces Raine, Lyric, Jade and Gracie; her nephews Kevin Baptiste and Jonas Baptiste, Her grandmother Irene Baptiste; Debbie Baptiste and Henri Baptiste; and many more relatives in Morley, Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Too many to mention. We apologize if we have missed anyone.

Maria was predeceased by her grandmother Emily Anaskan in 2000, her brother Brandon “Chief” Baptiste in 2004, and her special friends, Paige lightening and biological mother Charlene Simeon.

Wake Services will be held at the residence Dale Baptiste (Morley, AB) on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Funeral Services will be held at Bearspaw Youth Centre (Morley, AB) on Monday, February 13, 2023 at 12:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Bearspaw Cemetery (Morley, AB).  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
