Elroy JR Clarence Panther Bone “Nitsitaaskomaapii” (Only Boy) of the Blood Tribe, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2023 at the age of 37 years, just one month before his 38th birthday on March 5, 1985.

 

Besides his loving companion Amanda, Elroy JR is survived by his children, Janessa, Chloe, Elroy III, Rochelle, and Issac; stepchildren, Ayden, Nezar, Tessa, Marshall, Nevaeh, Kaia, Tyler, Leanne, Cayley, Victoria, Natalie, and Zoey, whom he loved very much; a special nephew that he cherished, Maven Crane; and his father Elroy SR Clarence Panther Bone. Elroy JR is also survived by his siblings, Treena WolfLeg (Sam), Travis Olds, Cyril Olds, Stephanie Eagle Plume (Keith), Rebekah Nicholas (Luke), Kyle Southwind, Jarrett Panther Bone (Beth), Kelsey [aka Kemo], Bobbi-Jo Eagle Plume (Justin), Preston Panther Bone, Sheila Crow Eagle (Ivory), Lisa Crow Eagle (Bernie), Brad Cummer, Leah, and Dakota Panther Bone (Cody); his grandmother, Vera Eagle Plume; great-aunties, Justine Stimson and Pearl Heavy Runner; great uncle, Phillip Wolfchild. Aunties Carolla Henley (Hugh), Celestine Panther Bone, Lisa Panther Bone, Lorna Smoke, Debbie Morning Owl, Beverly Southwind, Brenda Southwind, Verona King (Nealin), and Francine Himmelspeck; uncles, Pat Morning Owl (Verden), Joe Panther Bone, Lawrence Big Sorrel Horse, Mike Panther Bone, Dwight Panther Bone (Emilie), Rick, Fred, Bob Cummer, Leo Panther Bone and Clifford Morning Owl; cousins, Kimmie Smoke, Nolan Southwind, Reimer Southwind, Sky Southwind, Donovan King, Alicia King, Samuel Smoke, Benjamin Smoke and Blaize Smoke and Amber White Quills; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

Elroy made many friendships and special connections with so many people over the years and he also comes from a very large extended family. We deeply apologize if we have missed anyone.

 

He was predeceased by his mother, Gloria Southwind; sister, Louise Becky Panther Bone; maternal great-grandparents, Charles and Louise Panther Bone; paternal great-grandparents, Willie and Lily Eagle Plume; paternal grandfather, Claude Eagle Plume; maternal grandfather, Martin Southwind; maternal grandmother, Joan Southwind; great-aunties, Ruth Panther Bone, Cecil Wolf Child, Mary Eva Spotted Bull, Emma Many Feathers, Margaret Morning Owl, Kathleen Panther Bone, Valentine Matheson, Joanne Wolf Child, Alice Black Rabbit, Pauline Three Persons, Annie Devine, and  Vivan Eagle Child; great-uncles, Michael Panther Bone, Sandy Eagle Plume, and Frank Eagle Plume; a special auntie whom he took as a mom, Colleen Eagle Plume, auntie Dolly Panther Bone, uncles, Kenny “Bones” Panther Bone and Tony Himmelspeck; adopted sister, Tiffany Waterchief; and his cousins, Ben White Quills, Ashely Smoke and Tyler Southwind.

 

Wake Services will be held at Erin Woods Community Center (83 Erin Park Dr SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. A second Wake Service will be held at the Moses Lake Gym, Blood Reserve, AB, on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.

 

Funeral Service will be held at the Moses Lake Gym, Blood Reserve, AB, on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery (Blood Reserve, AB). Traditional Feast immediately following the graveside at the Moses Lake Gym.
