Condolences
Tony was a great man, I learned a lot about aviation from him. We had great fun during dinners at various aviation shows across Europe. He always talked very lovingly about his family and was very proud of each and everyone of them. I will remember Tony for his positivity and great sense of humour. He will be dearly missed. I’m with you all in prayer and wish you all the strength in the universe. Best regards from The Netherlands - Niels Dam
I first met Tony back in the 70’s when working at Field Aviation. He was first in to take pictures of planes that were newly completed. Always a pleasant man.
Always good to hear another Irish accent as we shared memories of airspotting at Dublin Airport when I passed through Calgary. Tony certainly took the hobby to a new level. My condolences to his family, Rest in Peace, Tony.

Good Memories of AJH as we knew him back so many years ago .Caught up with him in Calgary in 2004 where he pulled out the red carpet for us grey haired paddies.RIP Tony..
I'm so sorry for your family's loss Barbara.. Heartbreaking.
My prayers are with you and your family always.
My condolences to the Hickey family. The last time I ran into Tony, was at the hospital. I was dropping my dad off for a checkup and Tony and Kevin were leaving. Brief chat but I was blocking the road. I received a message after, with Tony asking how my dad was doing and downplaying his own illness. I spent a great 14 years working with Tony, and am grateful for every minute.
It is with profound sadness that I learned of the passing of my friend Tony last week. Our association began in the late 70’s when I met the “man with the camera” who I quickly learned was a consummate aviation photographer and historian while he was chasing a shot on YYC’s main apron. Our work career began together in the early 80’s in the jet fuel business at YYC when he hired on with Consolidated Aviation which became PLH Aviation. The comradery we shared over the 15 years working together and subsequently our love of aviation and aviation history is one that I will truly miss. His sharp eye for detail, quick wit, and infectious sense of humor, was what truly kept us going through one of the most tumultuous periods of Canadian Airline Aviation history. Always a gentleman, kind with his words in praise of others, or not, and his incredible memory will be missed by not only myself, but all those who were fortunate enough to have known him. My sincerest condolences to Barbara and family. CAVOK to you my Friend!

Firstly sincere condolences to Barbara and all their family and relatives, I was very sorry to hear of Tony's passing.
I have know Tony since the mid-1960's before he moved to Canada. We shared many aviation related excursions to catch elusive aircraft at all hours of the day or night, often under extreme weather conditions. Tony was a great friend and always had a positive outlook on life and really enjoyed the craic. I recall that Barbara and himself gave us a great welcome during the only trip I ever made to Calgary. Even though he was thousands of miles away from Ireland we often kept in touch to regale stories of our adventures with Joe Farrell, another great friend of ours who also moved to Canada.
He will be sadly missed by so many but certainly never forgotten., RIP Tony.
I knew Tony as a fellow aviation enthusiast in Dublin from before he moved to Calgary and I will always remember him for his wit. Judging by the photo attached to his obituary, it is the same Tony I remember dfrom over 50 byears ago. My condolences to Barbara and all his family. Paul Cunniffe, Dublin.

May you rest in peace Anthony deepest sympathy to all your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Patricia Carpenter (nee Hickey Dublin).
Cousin Tony started my own interest and, ultimately, a career in aviation. Get some well earned rest Tony.
Dear Hickey family,
My heart still breaks for your family. I am still at a loss for words with this loss. I hope that all the love that you have been shown tells you just how much love he showed everyone else. I know words are never enough but I always have warm memories of tony. He was always willing to share some time all of the time. He was truly an exceptional man and if the world had more of him we would be a lot better off.
Miss all of you
Greg Levy
