Obituary of Yolande Forcier

FORCIER, Yolande Marie

February 16, 1937 - Kincaid, Saskatchewan

February 13, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that after a long, courageous battle with heart disease, Yolande Forcier passed away quietly in peace on February 13, 2023 at the age of 85 years.

Yolande is survived by her daughter Suzanne, grandsons, Shane and Brent; great-grandson Marcus, and daughter-in-law Marie-Christine.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Freda, brother John (Adeline), sister Marcelle, brother-in-law Luc, and numerous nieces and nephews from both sides of the family across the country. She was predeceased by her husband Marcel and son Roger.

Yolande grew up in a predominantly French farm community in rural Saskatchewan, one of the youngest of thirteen children. From a young age, Yolande was fearless and eager to try new things. She was very capable, intelligent, successful in business and had a love for line dancing, crosswords, Aquasize and a desire to excel in any endeavor she chose to undertake. Her cooking and baking for family gatherings and celebrations was ‘extraordinaire’!

Her life journey took her from the farm to large metropolitan cities across Canada and the U.S.  In spite of numerous moves from one location to another, family steadfastly remained at the centre of her heart.

In the last few days of her life. Yolande had a very memorable visit with her great-grandson baby Marcus and family witnessed her pure joy when he reached out to grasp her hand.

A Celebration of Yolande’s Life will be announced at a later date.  If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to a charity of your choice. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed here.
