Condolences
Dear Linda, Erin, Edmund, Marleis and families: We were so sorry this weekend to learn of the loss of your dad. Such great memories we have of him during the Bosche family gatherings. Your dad was so interesting to talk with, with his fascinating experiences. We particularly remember him showing us the amazing photos in one of his books on Indigenous peoples in the north. Such a hard time for the Bosche family with your dad, Ella and Doreen all gone within days of each other. Rest in peace Terry. Hugs to all of you from the Balfour family.
Hello To Terry's family. I had a wonderful friendship with your Dad. Either at church or the Crowfoot Y we were both happy to see and chat with each other. I spent some time with him at the hospice the Saturday before he passed. It was just the two of us and a now a wonderful memory for me. He was a special man and I'm sure his inner "boy" is glowing Sincerely Dawn Urschel
Terry was a very dear friend of mine who lead a very interesting life, and touched the lives of many National Park and protected area conservation groups, with his lifetime of work with the Native people's of the North and Western Canada. A former RCMP in the North, he travelled extensively with Native peoples on trap lines, by dog team, and via snowshoe, to both appreciate and understand the people of the North, and the lives of Northern communities. He wrote several books, spoke Cree, and did extensive excellent ‘portrait' and landscape photography of active folks at work and play in the northern environment. He worked extensively on many Native liaison groups, and assisted many industry groups better understand and appreciate Native culture. Terry had an amazing way to get people together, and work jointly with an appreciation for everyone's concerns and interests. His mediation skills, with a kind and considerate manner, were truly, amazing. He championed Native interests to help themselves, by doing things themselves, for the betterment of their communities. He assisted and promoted Native recognition, and awareness. Terry was truly a great person, and a friend to all. My condolences to Terry's entire family.
To Terry's family... I want to thank you for sharing your father with me. We were kindred spirits he and I, sharing a common interest in indigenous culture, land use and the skills and depth of knowledge that those who live so close to the land possess. He was the teacher, I his fledgling student. He shared his lived experiences and special understandings with me. He was a patient instructor. Beyond that... he was a great man. I will miss his wise council and deep friendship, but I will keep him close in my heart and thank him forever for everything that he taught and shared with me. I am forever grateful.
So sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Our condolences to you and your families. We enjoyed a couple of visits in Ottawa with both your Dad and Mom in more recent years. They shared some wonderful stories of their adventures. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take good care. XO Love Hope and Rob McConkey
It is rare that one soul is the embodiment of will of steel coupled with gentleness of demeanour. Terry was at one and the same time a gentleman and a gentle man. A rare breed of man who impacted our world and culture in such profound and favourable ways.
I was so sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He was a fountain of knowledge and I was fascinated by his stories of his life experiences told over a good cup of coffee.
On behalf of our family and all those associated with Coyote Lake Lodge, I extend our sympathy to family and friends of Terry who served on our Society Board. He was a remarkable individual who had a wealth of family and professional experiences that he shared with me after dinner in the evenings while volunteering at our society lodge. For the lodge, he shingled roofs, shovelled snow, and made many other repairs. All this seemed easy because of his years of experience in the north with the RCMP. He had a strong interests in indigenous cultures and in persons with a disability. We treasure his books and his friendship. He will be missed.
To the Garvin Family: It is with sadness to hear of Terry's passing.Terry was a wonderful neighbor and will be deeply missed. Terry had a wealth of knowledge and loved to share it.Please accept our sincere condolences and May Terry RIP. Bill and Raylene
Sophie and Terry were some of my favourite people. I loved visiting with Terry and hearing his stories of working in the north, his adventures as an RCMP member and the stories of the Aboriginal People he worked with and researched for his books. This information is so valuable for both the Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal communities to give us a greater understanding of our past and window to the future. His passion on the subject was apparent and it was easy to be drawn into it. I will miss our visits and will remember them both with love and affection. Rest in Peace Terry <3
So sorry to hear of Uncle Terry's passing. Our thoughts and prayers to all of you. Uncle Terry will be missed. We are sorry that we will be unable to attend the Celebration of Life for Uncle Terry as Jody had spinal surgery on May 24, 2019. Sending our love and big hugs, Aileen and Jody

Terry was a good friend and mentor to many. I have known Terry for many years as we crossed paths in Indigenous Communities. We worked on some projects together like the Aboriginal Land Stewardship Program at the Alberta Research Council. Terry had incredible Indigenous community knowledge. Combine that with his positive personalty and energy made for very interesting stories and books. I am very grateful that Terry was my friend. I will miss him and I respectably wish to pay my condolences to his family. Sincerely, Bob Phillips
