Randall OUSTON

Obituary of Randall Albert OUSTON

Randy Ouston was born February 5, 1962 to his loving parents Jackie and Norm. He was the second youngest of 5 children and was raised in a caring, busy and fun filled home. Randy's love of the creative arts began in the high school production "Alice in Wonderland". He played the "Mad Hatter" and his parents fondly remember him practicing his single leap from sitting on a chair, to land standing on the kitchen table. Quite a feat! His daily practice of his new electric guitar in his parent's small home was encouraged, although at times sent the family running from the house to escape, as you can well imagine. Randy's thirst for the theatre continued in Edmonton at the Walterdale Theatre which later drew him to the Storybook Theatre in Calgary. His musical pursuits then took on a life of it's own. He was heavily involved in the Calgary Blues Association, including the Annual Calgary Blues Festival, which he loved. His love of the Blues intensified through the years and he was proud to have played not only solo gigs, but also with numerous well known talented artists in the industry. His theatrical skills having developed early on in his teens and progressed continuously throughout his life of entertaining, demonstrating and at times teaching in the amusing "Mad Science Kooky Kitchen" for children. Randy's performances as "Rusty Randy" at children's personal parties was a highlight, watched with joy and glee by all in attendance. Randy was always the passionate entertainer, creative artist and talented musician. His musical abilities were appreciated by many fans through his various bands, a couple being "Little Blue Number" and "The Randy O Band". His natural love was all forms of creative art, be it theatre, music, comedy acts or any other form of entertainment. His distinct style will be in the minds of many for a long time to come. Randy is survived by his four children Rebeca, Veronica, Edward and Kieran as well as his long-time partner, Janelle Webber and her two children Spencer and Brennen, sisters Lori Dewart and Shelly Lewis, brothers Daniel and Glen Ouston as well as his parents Jackie and Norman. Rest in peace Randy. Your spirit and your music will live on with all who remember you. We will all miss you so very, very much.
