Obituary of Henryk Kazimierz MAZUR
Henryk Mazur passed away on August 28th, 2017 after his tremendous battle with cancer. He was determined to fight to the bitter end, wanting to stay alive for his family, but finally the angels came and took him to a better peaceful place.
Henryk was born in Przemysl, Poland on July 7th 1943 to two wonderful parents Maria and Wladyslaw Mazur. He had two siblings an older brother Kazimierz Mazur who recides in Copenhagen, Denmark and a younger sister Teresa Wegrzyn who has welcomed Henryk in heaven.
Henryk during his younger age met his love of his life a beautiful woman named Daniela Uzdejczyk. A couple years later they were happily married in Przemysl, Poland and were together for almost 50 years. During his younger years he travelled through Eastern Europe to the following countries: Russia, Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria to improve our quality of life. During his life he always stood up against the government of Poland and this is why he ended living in Denmark, Germany, Austria and Canada. He was very receptive towards different language's, he spoke fluently, Polish, Russian, German, English and many additional Slavic languages.
He was tough, flexible and very much adaptable to new cultures and settings. He loved the Rocky Mountains, fishing, swimming and dancing. He always offered his hand to the person who needed his help. People who came in touch with him respected his sense of humor and great charisma.
Henry has left behind his wife Daniela; children Robert, Izabela and Ryszard; nine grandchildren Daniel, Kristian, Catelina and AnnaBelle plus five grandchildren in Germany.
We would like to thank the doctors, and nurses, at the Palative care unit in Peter Lougheed Hospital. Their dedication and support truly helped us during this trying time. We would also like to thank all our family and dear friends who were there for us through this difficult time.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Polish Catholic Church (2111 Uxbridge Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow at the parish hall.
Henryk will be laid to rest at the Queen's Park Cemetery, Calgary, AB on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 am.
