Obituary of Gregorio Medina LEGASPI Jr.
Greg Legaspi Jr., of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at the age of 86 years.
Greg knew the hard life at an early age which forged his highly driven personality, instrumental in helping him achieve his dream of providing a better future for his family. In his teenage years, he traveled with his father, Greg Senior, from Bulacan to Metro Manila to sell rice to help feed the family during World War II. The 41km trek, involved carrying a 20kg sack of rice on his back continuously for several years.
It was during World War II, that he first met Ana Constantino in elementary school and successfully courted her during their university days and led to 67 wonderful years of marriage.
After university, he established a career with Philippine Airlines (PAL) where he led a crew that managed the motorpool division (responsible for all assets on the ground) and flew countless miles during his tenure. His other passion for automobiles led to owning and building a multitude of vehicles and hundreds if not millions behind the wheel by himself or along with the family that he ingrained his passion to.
With the successful career at PAL, he succeeded in his ultimate goal to relocate his children and family to Canada in the pursuit of a better life not only for his 6 children, but also now for his 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his loving spouse Ana Constantino Legaspi.
