Obituary of Donald Harry VERRAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Donald Harry Verran, on Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Don married the love of his life, Marjorie (nee Bowman) on December 6, 1952. Don retired from Air Canada in 1988 after 34 years of service. During his retirement he enjoyed camping, travelling, and pursuing his love of cooking. Don is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marjorie; his four children, Bill (Susan), Myrna (John) Griffin, Kim (Jim) Thomas, and Darryl (Karen); eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Bill Bowman and his wife, Dorothy; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Unit 54 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital as well as Unit 57 at the Rockyview Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Robin Dargie and Nancy at the Rockyview for their care and compassion. A Memorial Service will be held at Calgary Crematorium and Funeral Services, 3219 4th Street N.W. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at 2:00p.m. If friends so desire, they may make donation to a charity of your choice in Don's name.
