Those who knew Kody, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives for Kody was always full of energy and willing to go above and beyond for others. He was known for his big heart, go-getting personality, and selfless ability to share happiness. Kody was the son of Mark Timothy Dunn and Lisa (Matyka) Dunn and brother to Janaya Kennedy Dunn and Darien Jonathan Dunn. Kody will be remembered by his grandmother, Pearl Dunn; cousins, Justin, Allyssa, Amanda Matyka; Jeffery Illerbrun; Ryan Matyka, Samantha Poch; Aric and Payton Dunn; Nick, Cole, Chase, Trista, Kayly, Jaxson, Emilee McCann; uncle Richard Dunn (Alana Dunn) and aunt Kim (Dunn) McCann (Steve McCann). Kody is now in the loving arms of his grandmother, Anna (Rab) Matyka; his grandfather’s, Walter Matyka, and Rick Dunn; his Uncle John Matyka, and Auntie Barbra (passed in infancy). Kody lived in his hometown of Medicine Hat, Alberta for most of his life. At the time of his death he was a 3rd-year apprentice welder; which was often said by Kody, to be his passion.Kody worked hard and played harder; often being the life of many parties. He enjoyed skateboarding, snowboarding, the billiards, and “making the big bucks”. UFC and wrestling were one of Kody’s favorite activities to partake in and watch; if the fights were on Kody was in front of the screen. Kody loved so many and was loved by so many more. He had an energy that with even just one encounter, you would remember him for life. He will continue to stay with us all through memories and the laughs we shared. I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always, as long as I’m living my baby you’ll be.. It seems so hard to comprehend that you’re no longer here, but all the happy memories will help keep you near. You’re thought about with pride, with each mention of your name.
