Obituary of Myrtle Ida SCHROEDER

Myrtle Schroeder beloved wife of the Late Albert Schroeder of Calgary, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Myrtle was born on January 30, 1928 to Vic and Olive Abrey at home on the farm at LeRoy, Saskatchewan. She had one sister, Enid and one brother, John. Myrtle married Albert Schroeder of LeRoy on November 10, 1948. They had three sons, Dan, David and Lyle and one daughter, Donna. The family lived in LeRoy and Watson, Saskatchewan and moved to Calgary, Alberta on July 1, 1969. In 1979 Myrtle and Albert moved to a farm at Worsley, Alberta for four years. Then, due to Albert's poor health, they sold the farm and came back to Calgary. In 2005 she sold the house in Calgary and moved to Dr. Whillans Manor in Crossfield, Alberta where she lived for five and a half years. On December 1, 2010 she moved into the Rockyview Lodge in Crossfield. On April 4, 2016 she moved into Dulcina Hospice in Calgary. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting and counted cross stitch. She leaves behind three sons, Dan (Debbie), David (Cheryl) and Lyle (Devina); six grandchildren, Joshua (Tamara) Schroeder, Matthew (Laura) Schroeder, Aaron Schroeder, Trina (Patrick) Miller, Nicole Schroeder and Enez Schroeder (Chad); five great grandchildren, Paisley, Julia and Miriam Schroeder and Clark and Ilyana Miller; sister-in-law Janice Abrey as well as many nieces and nephews. Myrtle was predeceased by her daughter, Donna in 1972, father in 1976, mother in 1983, her husband Albert in 1989, her sister Enid in 1999, brother-in-law Alex in 2012, nephew Johnny Abrey in 2013 and brother John in 2015. Funeral Services will be held at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 1708 - 16th Avenue N.W. (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre, Calgary) on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queens Park Cemetery.
