Obituary of James William HENDERSON

HENDERSON - James William January 22, 1924 - June 19, 2016 Calgary, Alberta - James William Henderson, beloved husband of Nora Henderson, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, June 19, 2016.James was 92 and is survived by his son William Henderson (Lorna), and his granddaughter Raelene, daughter Sylvia (Joseph), granddaughter Natasha (Gregg); as well as great-granddaughters Kira and Amalia, and son Fred. James is also survived by his brother John Robert Henderson, nephews and nieces: Hal, Kerry, Scott, Lisa, Angela. James had a wonderful life, full of love, laughter, and many memories. His parents settled and established a farming operation near Cochrane, Alberta, after emigrating from England in 1928. James and his brother John are best known for pioneering a road construction business in 1952. Henderson Brothers Construction built many of Alberta's road, including those in and around Cochrane. James had an enviable work ethic and stamina, and retired at the age of 72; he was as passionate about aviation as he was about work. It has been said that, "in the wake of a wonderful life lies a lifetime of wonderful memories." Family and friends of James will gather to celebrate his life at the Kingdom Hall, 8104 Bowness Rd NW, Calgary, on Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 4:00 p.m.
