Obituary of Kevin Lenard RASMUSSEN

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Kevin Rasmussen of Calgary, AB, on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at his home at the age of 46 years. Kevin graduated from William Aberhart High School in 1987, then from the University of Calgary with a BSc Eng, and the University of Alberta with an MBA. He returned to Calgary to work for Gulf Canada Resources then later for Burnt Sand and NextClick. He and a partner worked together to develop KEO Scientific, a company which designs and builds imagers (specialized cameras) for the scientific research community. Kevin had many friends and business acquaintances who enjoyed his friendship, his support in time of need, his intelligence and his sense of humour. He was a beloved son and brother. Kevin said his greatest achievement and his pride and joy was his lovely daughter, Perrin. Kevin is survived by his daughter Perrin; Perrin's mother Deb Degenstein; parents Norma and Lenard Rasmussen; sister Stacey (Jim) Smythe; niece Anna Smythe; nephews Sydney and Charles Smythe; grandparents Ed and Margaret Pommen. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Kevin was predeceased by his Rasmussen grandparents and several aunts and uncles. A Memorial Service will be held at St. David's United Church, 3303 Capitol Hill Crescent N.W., on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
