Obituary of Sharon Dianne BENNETT

BENNETT - Sharon Dianne (nee Station) October 11, 1946 - Vancouver, BC September 30, 2015 - Calgary, AB Sharon, beloved wife of Bruce, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the age of 68 years. Sharon was raised and attended school in North Vancouver. Following her graduation in 1964, she attended Riverview Hospital School of Nursing. Sharon graduated in 1967 as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse. Sharon met Bruce while studying at Riverview and the couple was married in 1968. In 1970, Bruce was transferred to Calgary. Sharon worked as a RPN at the Calgary General Hospital. The young couple started their family and raised their children in Calgary, Nelson and Thunder Bay. Sharon enjoyed ceramics, knitting, camping and fishing (she always caught the biggest and the most fish!). She loved to cook and came by it naturally. Sharon spent 18 years in long term care where she enjoyed bowling, bingo and trivia. Her face lit up when family and friends stopped by for a visit. Sharon is remembered by her husband Bruce; children Darryl (Chantelle) and Sheri; grandchildren Darcy, Matthew and Jordan; mother Florence Station; sister Barb Brinson as well as extended family and friends in Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay and Salmo. Sharon is predeceased by her father Ted Station; grandparents Roy and Mary Leyburn and Fred and Katie Station. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Horton Road Legion, 9202 Horton Road S.W., on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
