HARVEY, Ruth May 15, 1922 - Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan November 17, 2014 - Calgary, Alberta It is with great sadness we announce that Ruth Harvey passed away peacefully in Calgary, Monday, November 17, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Ruth was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan and trained as a secretary at Luther College in Regina. She moved to Toronto where she met and married Rev. Aitken Harvey, the love of her life. As husband and wife they accepted charges at United Churches in The Pas, Edmonton (Strathern), Camrose, and Calgary (Parkdale). Over the years she was busy with church life and raising their four children. She made numerous lifelong friendships and touched many lives. Ruth loved music, time with her family, had a keen interest in genealogy and enjoyed maintaining a list of the many branches of her family tree. Ruth is survived by her son David (Deb), her daughters Dianne (Gerard), Dorothy (Boris), and her seven grandchildren; Andrea (Lonny), Laura (Andy), Janine (Rory), John (Brittany), Steven (Kirsten), Rebecca and James and six great-grand children. Ruth is also survived by her sister Dorothy (John), brother Carson, son-in-law Joe, sister-in-laws Betty and Jean, many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Aitken, daughter Doreen and younger sisters Bev (Stan), Eleanor (Ralf), and Marg (Charles). Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who showed us how to live and love well by the wonderful example she set every day. Her strong faith and love of family are a source of comfort for her family and friends and she will be dearly missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 - 8th Avenue N.W.) on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. Please forward condolences through www.hffs.com.
