Obituary of Harriet Jean Chambers

CHAMBERS, Harriet Jean (nee Gerlitz) April 11, 1928 - Kathryn, Alberta September 27, 2014- Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother Harriet Jean Chambers on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the age of 86 years. Harriet was born and raised in the Kathryn area. After graduating high school, she moved to Calgary and went to Robertson College, where she took a secretarial course which served her well throughout her life. She began her career working at a mortgage company and later at Crescent Heights High School then finishing her working years at the Fanning Centre. Along with working she enjoyed travelling. She worked hard and devoted her life to raising her four children albeit not an easy task at times but she persevered and here we are today to wish her farewell and to rest in peace. Mom is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Debra and Rusty Saraceni; sons and daughter-in-law, Stephen Chambers and Neil and Jo-Anne Chambers; sister, Alice and brother-in-law Bob as well as by her grand-daughter, great-grand-sons, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Jack, mother Pauline, father Conrad, brothers Roy and Allen and many others she loved and shared her life with. A private family graveside service will take place at Queens Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to Santuari Hospice, unit 42 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, 3500 26th Avenue N.E., Calgary, Alberta T1Y 6J4. The family wishes to thank the many care givers who looked after mom at her time of passing.
