Obituary of Donald BROWN
Don Brown, beloved husband of Jean Brown of Calgary, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 14, 2012 at the age of 90 years. Don was born and raised in Calgary, receiving his education at Western Canada High School. After graduating, Don enlisted with the RCAF serving overseas with the 407 squadron providing costal patrol. Upon returning, Don married Jean on October 29, 1949 and together they made their home in the Briar Hill area of Calgary. Don worked for many years as an electrician, he first began his career in partnership with McCurdy and Brown Electric which they successfully operated for twenty years. He then began a new phase of his career, where he worked with Consolidated Concrete until his retirement. Don was a very creative and imaginative person. He would often recognize the struggles of others, and manufacturer a device or gadget that would help solve their needs. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, who will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched. Don is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Jean; his daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and Philip Norris, grandchildren; Greg and Tim; brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Margaret Brown as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Irma and Charles Pett. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Queen's Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
