Obituary of Madan Lal SHARMA
Madan Lal Sharma passed away peacefully at the age of 90 years with his loving family and friends by his side. Madan was born in Faridkot, Punjab, India in 1921. On March 4, 1942, he married Sohag Rani Modgil, and they enjoyed 51 wonderful years together before her passing. Madan and Sohag moved to Edmonton in 1969, where he attended the U of A, and received his Bachelors of Education. Madan loved the time he spent living in Radway, AB, where he taught at the elementary school. A voracious reader, especially of poetry, Madan was fluent in five languages including German. Together they raised five children of whom they were very proud- daughter Vijay (Raghav), son Rajinder (Vimal), daughter Shashi (Gokul), son Vivek (Valerie), and son Tony (Mona). They also were proud grandparents to thirteen grandchildren- Ravi, Sameer, Bobby, Rick, Rajiv, Rahul, Sunil, Jason, Ben, Dustin, Keelan, Manisha, and Neha; five great-grandchildren- Priya, Luxmi, Dia, Gia, and Uma. Madan will also be sadly missed by his wife Joginder and step-son Vijay (Renuka).
