Obituary of Devinder Singh JAGDEV

Devinder Jagdev passed away peacefully on Sunday March 4, 2012 at the Foothills Hospital at the age of 77 years. Devinder is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Kuldeep Kaur, his daughter Upinder Graddon (Art), his son Devadeep (Rennu) and his four grandchildren: Shivam, Anjali, Devin & Nayah. He is also survived by his sister Gurnam Kaur of London, England and numerous relatives in England and India. Devinder will also be fondly remembered by his many friends around the world. Devinder was predeceased by his parents Labh Singh and Dhan Kaur, as well as by his brothers Darshan Singh and Arjan Singh and sister Mohinder Kaur Manku. Devinder was born in Ludhiana, India and moved to Nairobi, Kenya as a young man. He subsequently moved to London, England in 1954 where he later met and married his wife, Kuldeep. Devinder established himself as a graphics art photographer and then pursued a career in law until his retirement at the age of 57. He moved to Calgary in 1998 where he made many good friends, enjoyed travels with his family and spent time with his loving grandchildren. Devinder (Dev) enjoyed photography throughout his life and leaves great photographic memories and stories of his worldwide travels. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends and his legacy will live on. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ICU staff at the Foothills Hospital for their compassionate and skillful care during Devinder's final days. Funeral Services was held at CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4th Street N.W., (within the valley of Queen's Park Cemetery) on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 2:00 p.m, followed by prayers at the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Sikh Centre, 719 - 81st Street SW.
