Obituary of Richard Arnold OLSEN

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Dick Olsen who passed away at home, suddenly but peacefully on February 12th. He is survived by his loving wife, Edie; his two daughters, Nancy Olsen of Calgary and Victoria (Stephen) Lau of San Francisco; and his cherished grandson Carter Lau. Dick is also survived by his siblings, Norm (Val) Olsen, Catherine (Barry) Magill, both of Calgary, and Valerie (Bill) Tinney of Prince George, B.C, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister Janice Olsen. Dick worked as a mechanical designer for UMA Engineering, (subsequently AECOM) for the past 47 years. He was a passionate accomplished wood worker, who took pride in his many intricate wood turnings. A memorial service will be held at Varsity Acres Presbyterian Church (4612 Varsity Drive N.W.) at 11AM on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 with the Rev. Dr. Bob Smith officiating.
