Obituary of Dorothy Yola CADDICK

Dorothy Caddick, beloved wife of Jack Caddick of Calgary, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2011 at the age of 96 years. Dorothy was born November 27, 1914 in Banff, Alberta. As a child, she lived in both Bankhead and Banff. She began her career as a dental assistant in Banff, working for Dr. N. J. Quigley before joining the C. W. A. C. where she became a Sergeant attached to the Dental Corps. Dorothy was an accomplished professional vocalist and was well-known for her singing with big bands and orchestras in Banff and Calgary and with the Army during the Second World War. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband Jack; step-son Rod of Calgary, step-daughter and son-in-law Holly and Stewart Hansen of White Rock, BC and their families. She is also survived by nieces and nephews Wayne Peterson of St. Albert, AB, Iris Klein of Nanaimo, BC, Laura Kanak of Pear Blossom, CA, Lauren Trono of Toronto, ON and Mario Trono of Calgary, AB, as well as many grand-nieces and grand-nephews and extended family members. She was predeceased by her first husband, W. H. (Bill) Hood; brothers Michael and Louis Trono; sister Ann Peterson and nephew Arthur Trono.
